Changes By Day was founded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — a time when the world stood still, yet the needs within our communities grew stronger. After being sent home from college due to shutdowns, I began to notice a rise in homelessness and hardship around me. Through research, I learned that many local shelters had closed their doors, leaving vulnerable individuals without access to basic resources or care.

 

One Saturday, I gathered my family to prepare and distribute meals to those in need. I shared our efforts online, and soon, the response was overwhelming — friends, neighbors, and even strangers reached out, eager to volunteer and contribute. What started as one small act of kindness became the foundation of something bigger: a movement built on compassion, community, and consistent care.

 

From that moment, Changes By Day grew into a nonprofit organization passionate about community support, outreach opportunities, and helping those who feel down find renewal and hope again. Our mission expanded beyond homelessness to include underserved populations such as grandparents raising grandchildren, families in crisis, and providing underprivileged student athletes in Jamaica, West Indies, the opportunity to receive proper uniforms and running shoes.

 

At its heart, Changes By Day stands for transformation — proving that lasting change doesn’t happen all at once, but through daily acts of kindness, connection, and love.
